Bread machine- Moulinex OW240E Nutribread

We began to use this bread machine a few years ago, when we knew that our daughter had a very serious food allergy that requires carefully checking ingredients. It has no longer possible to puchase bread at the bakery.

We first purchased a planetary mixer for the homemade bread (read our review  here). Later on, we bought the bread machine, it came in handy on days where we would be running short of time, we would only put the ingredients in the bowl, and the machine will take care of the rest.

We chose Moulinex because in general it has a great price-quality ratio and it came to our expectations

The machine has 20 different programs (3 of which are gluten free recipes). Personally, I was not satisfied of the “fast bread” program, it cuts the preparation time in half but honestly the result is a bit heavy. The” basic bread” and “French bread” programs are my favorite. I recently developed the habit of using it to prepare pizza dough, even if I let the dough rest longer to have fluffier and tastier pizza.

The procedure is very simple:

1- insert the liquid ingredients in the bowl

2- add the flour (any type you prefer), yeast and salt

I, personally, add a bit of sugar next to the yeast and make sure to put the salt in the opposite corner; this will make the yeast rise better.

Once you select the program, you will have to choose between 3 weight options (500g, 750g, 1kg) and 3 crust colors (light/medium/dark)

I always opt for medium sized and medium crust colored bread, that after several attempts, I found to give the best results.

Once, all ingredients are put in the bowl, press the start button and the machine will begin to knead.  10 minutes later, you will be notified by a beeping sound to add if desired some seasoning to your bread (dried fruit, olives…) after which it will give the dough a quick knead and then it will be given time to rise. Finally, you’ll notice a change in temperature from lukewarm to hot when starting to cook. Another signal will let you know that the bread is ready.

The Moulinex OW240E Nutribread that we talked about has a start to end time of about 3 hours.

It’s a pity that the cookbook has no satisfying recipes.
